Six Flags Fiesta Texas Wonder Woman Coaster

01

The Challenge:

The goal was to provide a full-service design package for the Wonder Woman attraction at the park. This included the careful coordination and planning of demolition plans, site design, coaster foundations, certification of coaster structure, design of the retail, queue building, station, maintenance roof, and elevated walkways, and electrical design. The coaster was sited on the existing reservoir pond floor and in the footprint of a previous water ride attraction – one that GGE had designed approximately 25 years ago!

02

Our Solutions:

The coaster footings were designed to be installed on and pinned to the reservoir slab. This saved significant effort, time, and cost as opposed to having to cut and remove concrete, excavate, backfill, waterproof, and patch the concrete slabs. The project was designed to be accessible, resolved tight clearances at the station building, and incorporated the desired themes from the Wonder Woman movie.

The Results:

The existing water ride had reached the end of its lifecycle and was demolished. In its place stands the world’s first single rail coaster with a site and buildings that provide a wonderful experience to visitors. Working with the Six Flags team, GGE was able to provide an integrated design for the required components of the project and efficiently overcome the questions and challenges posed by this unique project.
