The Challenge:
The foundation design required a cost-effective way to support a 450’ tall ride tower over poor subgrade soils.
02
Our Solutions:
The proposed solution was a large spread footing, measuring at 86’ in diameter and 6’-9” thick at its center with a dazzling array of steel reinforcing to counteract bending forces in the footing.

The Results:
The design resulted in a stable foundation that eliminated the need for deep foundations. The foundation elevations are periodically checked to ensure that the foundation is not settling in excess of allowable criteria. The project also involved the evaluation and certification of the entire ride structure specific to the loading criteria of the site.
